What We Believe About the Person of GodThe Bible contains the inspired and infallible words and intentions of God for humanity (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 2:21).God exists as a trinity of three distinct and unique Persons in role and personality as the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit, yet unified in nature and purpose (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19). God created the universe in the beginning (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3). What We Believe About Man's NeedMankind is fallen in sin and needs a saviour (Romans 3:23-24). Our sins have to be forgiven to avoid an eternal damnation in hell (Romans 6:23). God’s Solution for HumanityGod sent His Son Jesus to die for us so that we can receive eternal life (John 3:16). His death and resurrection provides for our well-being: spirit, soul and body (Isaiah 53:4-5). The Lord Jesus will return again to earth bodily (1 Corinthians 15:23; Acts 1:9-11). Man must repent and believe in the Lord Jesus to be saved (Romans 10:9-10; Acts 4:12). God’s Purposes for the Church God has called believers to be His people who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, minister to one another and reach out with the gospel of forgiveness and healing to all mankind (1 Peter 2:9; John 4:23; Mark 16:15-20). We have been given the Holy Spirit to empower us to witness. This baptism for ministry is accompanied by speaking in tongues and other gifts (Acts 1:8; 2:4, 38; 4:31; 10:44-46; 19:1-6). Water Baptism and CommunionWater baptism as an ordinance of the church is available to and expected of all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12). Communion is commanded by the Lord and practiced in the church in remembrance of Him until He comes (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
