Devil Is Under Your Feet

Devils worst nightmare

• Devils worst nightmare is that you will find out who he really is
• You only find that out, when you find out who you really are.

Every man’s world and destiny are affected by these 2 truths

Everything else is peripheral.

THE DEVIL IS VERY SUBTLE –TRICKED MOST OF THE WORLD UP UNTIL NOW

The world’s view of the Devil & Hell /God & heaven

• World things the devil is a joke –that he doesn’t actually exist
• They don’t believe in a place called hell, or eternal damnation. –They believe what they want to believe.
• Most believe God exists, and that He is on their side.
• USA “Are you a Christian? – of course, I am American”
• Hollywood has created in their minds a ‘heavenly’ gallery. Everybody looks down and sees what’s going on, but in reality it’s not like that.
• World thinks heaven is for everyone who is decent (not even good)

The world has created in image of life after death as a state of ‘peace’, where you will find your rest.

• It’s a lie unless you know Jesus Christ as personal Saviour.

Religion has also an image of life after death –they base it on good works, but nowhere in the bible will good works get you to heaven.

God’s Word Sets Parameters

• The word of God sets the parameters.
• Devil has to obey the truth.
• He has to set you free when you know the truth

It is Written!!!!!

• Everything is ultimately controlled by the Word of God
• We need a revelation of the Power of the Word

Early Church walked in this truth

John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

The church for 2000 yrs has been teaching the truth –but a lot of people are still not free –WHY

• You have to press into truth until you are free.

Don’t ever give up on God’s word

• Apostles were aware of the devil’s devices, but he was considered a powerless force.
• They were so focused with the knowledge of the power of the risen Christ, - the power of the devil seemed so insignificant but the deceptive nature of the devil was revealed.
• We need a true picture of the devil, and how powerless he really is, but how we need to be on guard

We need to Be Aware of some Truths

a) The Devil has suffered total Destruction

I Jn 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Destroy = reduce to nothing = Dissolve a legal contract, beat into pieces, obliterate and crush

Heb 2:14 that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Message… By embacing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the devils hold on death

Amer…….He brought to nought him that had the power of death, that is the devil

Col 2:15

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Message….. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the cross and marched them naked through the streets.

Phillips… he exposed them shattered them emptied and defeated in his final glorious triumphant act.

• Every demon and every angel knows the devils defeat, because it was displayed to them.
• The devil actually leads a bunch of losers.
• Destined for eternal blackness

They also know Jesus as the Victor
There is a defeat mentality in the devil’s camp.
But He keeps going, because he has no other choice.
Get a news update!!!!!!
Get drunk on this revelation of the devil’s present condition.
Enforce his destruction.

b) The devil is under our feet –positionally

• You know that positionally we are the righteousness of Christ
• But we have to walk in that righteousness.

The devil is under our feet positionally –but we have to walk in that truth

Rom 16:20 "And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen."

Background

• When this was written Jesus had already crushed Satan.
• This is talking about the current situation the Roman church was experiencing.
• They were being bombarded with false teaching.
• Paul was encouraging the Romans not to give up.
• Keep their peace – and God will act.
• They would see victory shortly.

Notice it talks about Satan under our feet shortly

• The devil is not under your feet just because you’re a believer
• Positionally he is but not practically

You have to place him under your feet.

• He will stay where you put him – if you believe he is superior to you he will rise up
• God only bruises the devil when he is under your feet.
• If you don’t put him where he belongs, God can’t deal with him.

God gives you the grace until you can put him under your feet

Finally

c) How do we Enforce the Devils Destruction

• Give no place to the Devil

Eph 4:27    nor give place to the devil.

(Eph 4:27)   Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Message 

• Give the devil no reason by way of:
• Wrong confession /conversation
• Lust /corruption / greed / resentment / anger

Quote

The devil is always busy where there is anger

• Don’t let him influence your mind or irritate your spirit

Prov 26:2 gives wonderful insight

Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

Message

You have as little to fear from an undeserved curse as from the dart of a wren or the swoop of a swallow

Causeless /without cause = devoid of cost, = devoid of reason (don’t deserve it)

This is saying that if you did not pay for it, you don’t deserve it

• If you did not pay for it you cannot receive it.
• Devil cannot make you receive something you did not pay for.If you know who paid for it, you will not receive it.
• You cannot receive any kind of a curse unless you pay the price for it.
• Don't let the devil move out of the parameters God has given you to restrict him within.
